Advocacy awareness can be useful for staff in a variety of settings, and can be tailored to your needs, from individual half day sessions up to a regular training programme to increase skills amongst your staff.

Training can be provided as a short course in basic advocacy skills for other professionals. More in depth training can be arranged to meet the needs of your staff, examples include, Children’s advocacy, Benefits advocacy, Mental Health advocacy or Mental Capacity advocacy.

Volunteer Training


ICANN provide free training for any individuals who would like to become an ICANN volunteer - please click here for further details. This training covers advocacy awareness, basic advocacy skills, equality and diversity, ICANN policies and procedures and the ethical dilemmas you may come across as an advocate. Project specific training is also provided.

Training is normally carried out over 2-3 sessions, and takes place at venues across Lancashire including East Lancashire, West Lancashire, Preston, Blackpool, Lancaster and Blackburn.

Dementia Awareness

ICANN are part of the Dementia Champions scheme, and can provide Dementia Friends Awareness sessions if required.
