A message from Pamela…
“After a rewarding career in education as a College Lecturer teaching Information Technology, I changed direction in 2002 and spent 7 years as Area Manager with Connexions Lancashire supporting young people aged 13 to 25 years, through a collaborative and holistic approach, to address barriers that prevented them from accessing education, employment and training.
In 2008 I joined the voluntary sector as Senior Manager with Age UK, Business Development Manager with Carers Trust (Blackpool) and as Chief Executive Officer Central and West Lancashire Carers. I now operate my own Consultancy Company on a part time basis through which I facilitate supervision, training and development opportunities for voluntary sector staff.
Sharing skills and knowledge gained, over the years, through professional and personal experience is rewarding. In times of continuing and extensive financial cut backs there are many reasons why involvement of individuals with strategic experience is invaluable in efforts to safeguard the future of charities and community organisations. None of us knows what the future holds or when we, or our loved ones, may be in the position of needing help to prevent an issue from escalating into a crisis or to avoid the feeling of having to cope alone. “
